King Racing
Engine Bearings, Thrust Bearings, and Connecting Rod Bearings by KING Racing!
King Racing specializes in manufacturing bearings and other sliding bearings for combustion engines.
King Engine Bearings, founded in 1960, had one mission: to deliver the highest quality bearings available in the market.
King Racing maintains a state-of-the-art production line and proprietary machinery to produce premium quality bearings for the most demanding powerplants.
King Racing's presence spans from the aviation market to Formula 1, demonstrating their products' superior quality.
King Racing's XP Series bearings combine a unique tri-metal structure with advanced surface treatment processes to ensure excellent oil film load capacity.
The pMaxBlack coating contains 5% copper. It's further enhanced by a patented nano-scale hardening process that modifies the molecular structure and creates a black, friction-resistant coating. The result is a significant 29% increase in overlay hardness (18.1 HV) and an overall 24% increase in load capacity (10,200 psi).
KING developed the HP Series utilizing the Alecular bi-metallic structure. It consists of an aluminum/tin/silicon alloy top layer bonded to a high-strength steel backing. The main advantages of the Alecular structure include resistance to surface migration and extrusion under extremely high loads, including metal-to-metal contact for brief periods. Such conditions are common in drag racing and monster truck competitions.
King's new pMaxKote is a nano-composite polymer coating. It's applied to the pMaxBlack overlay at King's factory during the bearing manufacturing process. It enhances wear resistance without altering the original, precise bearing wall thickness.
King's pMaxKote represents a new approach to coated bearings. It's proven to protect bearings during metal-to-metal contact and against cavitation erosion effects. It contains ceramic nano-composite particles that act as a fourth layer providing excellent structural protection.
pMaxKote enhances the following advantages of King XP racing bearings:
- Superior seizure resistance
- Excellent cavitation resistance
- Outstanding wear resistance
TOPFUEL BEARINGS WITH K-40 POLYMER COATING This coating composition was specifically engineered for engines experiencing continuous metal-to-metal contact, characteristic of extreme loads and conditions found in various drag racing categories.
K-40 is used in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Mod, and similar applications. In these applications, bearings must resist metal-to-metal contact and deformation. Extreme loads cause oil film breakdown, allowing contact between the bearing and crankshaft surface. Maintaining low friction, even under metal-to-metal contact conditions, is crucial for any engine bearing's longevity.
King TFC bearings are engineered to withstand loads generated by 10,000 HP Top Fuel engines.
